Huamei International School September 4, 2012 - July 1, 2015

Oral English Teacher

Taught Huamei Primary School Grades 2-8 using Longman materials. Also helped students prepare for Cambridge

examination. Worked with Chinese colleagues to develop the best approach to engage, elicit and motivate students to speak out in class. I have been using a combination of books, PPT, video, audio and combinations of these media to enhance and keep the students interest at the highest possible level. Several administrators have noted that

my use of PPT is impressive, however, I continually strive to better myself and my methods of teaching. Improvement is constantly part of my overall teaching goal. Also I establish relationships with my students

to let them know their education is important to me personally. I have also taught at several primary schools located in the Long Dong area, from grades kindergarten through Grade 6. I have also coached students in acting and English speaking plays. My students won the First place award and were given the opportunity to travel to Beijing to

perform in the contest. Humor is also part of what I do, I know the difficulty that teaching has in keeping the attention, especially of younger students, so I like to use music, song and dance to keep them interested.

Trained students using innovative approaches of in multimedia (music and video). Promoted free talk among students on topics that interested them. Encouraged students to express themselves through hands-on activities, plays, singing, and demonstrations. Assisted students in building computers and software programs, using their interests to further their English ability and fuel their passion for speaking. English corner was a venue I used to develop an open forum to discuss all things of interest to students, indulging their passion for music, food, recreation, sports, travel, etc. Assisted the school manager in strategies for developing advertising and promoting the school to attract new clients.
